Weight Loss Doesn't Have to Suck

Ep #61: How to Stop Overeating (When You Don't Want To)

Kimberly Severson Season 1 Episode 61

Do you feel stuck in the cycle of giving in to overeating and then majorly regretting it later? Maybe you struggle to resist that extra slice of pizza or those last few bites, even when you know you’re full.

Resisting temptation can be SO hard.  Especially when the siren song of the ice cream in the freezer or those chips in the pantry seems so loud and relentless.

If you struggle with this, you’re not alone.  Feeling powerless against the desire to overeat is one of the biggest obstacles in the way of weight loss.

But it IS possible to overcome.  You can regain your control over your cravings.

How??  Using one simple but incredibly powerful tool: mental reframes.

Mental reframing is about intentionally changing the way we think about food and cravings.

It's about catching totally false thoughts from our lower brains (like "I'm powerless against my cravings and I just HAVE to eat this now") and powerfully choosing new thoughts that serve your goals.  Using this "choose again" method makes it SO much easier to stop overeating, no matter how powerless you feel right now.

You don’t have to believe (and act on) every thought that runs through your head about food.  I'm showing you exactly how to flip the script to curb overeating on today's episode.
